How to Join Central Baptist Church

Join by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior:

Romans 3:23  “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  This verse simply means that none of us are perfect. We have all sinned or “missed the mark”, which is the real meaning of the Greek word for sin.  God has a plan for each of us and when we fail to hit the target with our lives we miss the mark God wants us to hit.  We sin.
Romans 6:23  “For the wages of sin is death.”  Because God is a holy God, sin cannot exist in His presence.  Therefore, if there is sin in our lives we receive the consequences of that sin which is death.
Romans 5:8  “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.  God did not wait until we got it right or cleaned up our lives before He took action.  Even while we were in sin God took the initiative for our eternity and allowed Jesus, His Son, to come and live a sinless life and then take the punishment for our sins by dying on the cross.  The good news is that Jesus did not stay in the grave, but was raised from the dead and now lives at the right hand of the Father.  Jesus became the substitution for us.  He took our place.
Romans 10:9-10  “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”  All we have to do is simply confess that we are sinners; that we have missed the mark God has for our lives, and accept the sacrifice that Jesus made for us by taking our place in death and God will save us.
The second half of Romans 6:23 says, “But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  We have sinned against God but if we accept His Son, Jesus as our Lord, He will forgive us.

If you have never prayed and asked God to forgive you and come into your life and save you, you can do that right now.  If you would like, contact one of the staff and we would be more than happy to walk you through this prayer.  Once you have made this decision, you need to come forward at the close of one of our worship services and make this decision public.  Don’t let this scare you, we will be there with you and will answer any questions you might have.  You will not have to speak publicly, we will do all the talking for you.

Join by letter from another Baptist Church:

If you have already made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior in another Baptist Church and been scripturally baptized by immersion, we will accept you by “Promise of Letter” from your former church.
At the close of the service, during the invitation, if you would come to the front and share this information, we can send and get your letter from your former church.

Join by statement:

If you have already made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior in a like minded church and have been scripturally baptized by immersion, we will accept you by “Your Personal Statement.”
There will be no request for letter since most churches of other denominations do not share that practice.
In the event that you were never baptized or if you were baptized but not by immersion, we would ask that you be baptized by immersion prior to full membership.  We are certainly not questioning your conversion experience, but believe that immersion is the only form of baptism that correctly demonstrates the “death, burial and resurrection” of Jesus and therefore we hold to that method.
At the close of the service, during the invitation, if you would come to the front and share this information with us, we will make the necessary arrangements for your membership.

Should you have any questions about joining Central Baptist Church, please feel free to contact any of our staff and we would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
